These included the prized Kopi Luwak, or beans that have been eaten by the civet cat, not-really-digested, then pooed out, collected up, cleaned, roasted and ground for our drinking pleasure. The tour started from a point high up the side of Kintamani mountain. From there we had a spectacular view of a lake, and the active volcano, Mt Batur for Breakfast. After breakfast our friendly guides will then take you on an by van to start point where the bicycle a wait you.
We ride through an incredible 70 acre bamboo forest and see traditional craftsmen at work. Stop point a visit to the magical Balinese Traditional Village "PENGLIPURAN" is a very traditional village which has its own unique culture and way of life. Penglipuran Village is a place of interest and outstanding beauty in Bali. All the houses have been built from north to the south with the traditional entrance gate to each family compound being nearly identical.
The next stop on our descent will be at the magnificent "PURA KEHEN". Bali's second largest temple.
The temple has three courtyards connected by steps, and is decorated with carvings and statues. A large banyan tree shades the lowest and second courtyards. You will be able to enter the temple to see it in all its splendour and if by any chance there is a ceremony taking place you will be invited to witness the colourful event and our guides will explain to you the significance of the ritual.
Option stop point will be at a local market in the local town of Bangli where you can see a large array of exotic fruit, spices and vegetables for sale. Enjoy the quiet countryside of Bali's, backroads and witness first-hand the daily life of rural rice farmers. We will go on a short walk into rice paddies where you can experience first hand what it is like to grow, harvest and process rice.
After the bike tour has finished we will invite you 'Authentic Restaurant in the middle rice paddies "where you will be served a magnificent luncheon. In there is a small Balinese plantation where you can learn about the medicinal uses and cultural importance of a variety of local plants. And you will see many of the spices which are commonly used in cooking as well as different tropical fruits growing in their natural environment.
